Described as “a simply ideal” partnership, Canadian pianist Meagan Milatz and cellist Cameron Crozman make their debut in Malta performing a programming evoking musical Romance and Passion. Their program will capture both the light-hearted and heart-wrenching sides of love, from the elegance of Beethoven’s Variations on a theme from Mozart’s Magic Flute, to the soft introspection and unbridled joy of Schumann’s Adagio and Allegro, originally “Romance and Allegro”. The enormous sweeps of emotion in Franck’s Sonata made this piece the perfect wedding gift for his friend, the renowned Belgian violinist Eugène Ysaÿe. Finally, passion and intensity are captured by the Spanish like no other, and Popper’s Danses Espagnoles and De Falla’s Suite Populaire Espagnole bring the program to a fiery conclusion.
